Licensing
The plain-English version. The full terms are on the licence page; where they differ, the licence controls.
What you bought
A right to deploy and audit the software on machines you own or control. You may modify the source to integrate with your infrastructure, keep working backups, and study the source for due-diligence. You did not buy a redistributable copy: the code may live on your hard drive, never on a third party's.
The tiers
- Individual Practitioner — one named person, one seat, perpetual. Not for sharing across an organisation.
- Enterprise — one legal entity, unlimited seats, annual term. Includes a custom recogniser profile on request and priority support.
The licence.key file
You receive a signed license.key identifying you as the
licensee and naming your tier. Enforcement is strict: the companion
will not run without a valid, untampered, unexpired key, and the
extension blocks sends when it is invalid. This is deliberate — a
redactor running unlicensed is a redactor nobody has verified.
Purchased keys are Ed25519-signed by us; the app verifies them offline with an embedded public key. The wizard's optional local trial key is for evaluation only.
Renewals (Enterprise)
Annual licences carry an expiry. The popup warns within 30 days. To
renew, repurchase or contact us; you receive a fresh
license.key — drop it in the app-data folder, restart the
companion, done.
Refunds
Within seven days, where the software has not been downloaded. Once downloaded the value has been delivered.

If you are unsure whether a use is permitted, email hello@raphaelamponsah.com with a one-paragraph description. We would rather grant a clear permission than discover a stretched interpretation later.
